BARCLAYS AT PARK GATE TO CLOSE
Barclays has announced that its branch on Botley Road, Park Gate is to close on 5th February 2021. The company claims that “ony 19 customers use the branch exclusively for their banking” and there has been a 30% reduction in counter transactions in the 2 years to March 2020. The nearest alternative branches are at Fareham and, currently, Hedge End.
It is very sad to see steady closures of such local services but it is a reflection on the way people conduct their business in 2020.
