I was honoured to be invited to speak at the opening of Dave’s Lodge, the new 1st Sarisbury Scouts HQ at Burridge. Many dozens of volunteers and thousands of hours of unpaid work the hut will be a fantastic facility for scouting for many years to come. A huge achievement in terms of fundraising and volunteering.
So pleased to meet Neil Porter today who has for the last 20 years been the organiser of Abingdon Air Show. He was able to make many helpful suggestions to Councillor Jon Butts and me which will undoubtedly be reflected in an amazing event on 8th and 9th June. Tickets will be available from Monday from Ferneham Hall, online and the Solent Airport Control Tower.
It was a real pleasure as Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage to join local Councillors Zilliah Brooks, Kirsty North and Andrew Gibson to reopen Andover Library following a £300,000 refurbishment. The library is Hampshire’s 8th busiest with over 180,000 visitors annually. The register office will be moving in and the children’s library is enlarged.
