Nominate your local hero

Fareham Borough Council is seeking nominations for inspirational youngsters and adults for the 2014 Citizen of Honour and Young Citizen of Honour Awards. The closing date for nominations is Friday 31 January 2014.

There are three different categories of nomination: Young Citizen of the Year (4-11 years), Young Citizen of the Year (12-18 years) and Citizen of Honour (18 years plus).

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Conservative Councillor Seán Woodward, said: “The Citizen of Honour awards are the perfect way to celebrate someone who regularly puts others before themselves, may have shown an act of bravery or someone who has made a real difference to their community. ”

Nominations must be a resident of Fareham. Winners will attend the Mayor Making event in May to receive their award badges and certificates and will receive invitations as VIPs to a number of Civic events and a family ticket to the gala performance of the Christmas pantomime. The Young Citizen(s) of Honour will also be invited to switch on the Christmas lights in Fareham with the Mayor.
