The Fareham Borough Council Citizen of Honour Awards 2020 are now open

This year we celebrated some amazing Fareham heroes – and we want to do the same again for the 2020 awards.

People can be nominated for:

🔸Showing outstanding bravery
🔸Regularly helping others at school/college
🔸Coping with something life changing
🔸Giving unpaid voluntary service to benefit the community
🔸Giving up their time to help look after the local environment
🔸Caring for an individual with a debilitating condition or long-term illness
🔸Or simply for having done something amazing that deserves recognition!

There are two age categories; under 18 and over 18!

This year we’ve upped the stakes! Winners will receive a £100 anytime send voucher and a Citizen of Honour badge from The Mayor of Fareham!

So, what are you waiting for – nominate your hero here ➡️ http://ow.ly/kfJv50wIF3I, or by calling 📞01329 824310

Past Presidents from the Rotary Club of Fareham

A real pleasure to join many of my fellow Past Presidents from the Rotary Club of Fareham at our annual dinner held this year at Piccola Roma in Bishop’s Waltham. It is good to be able to enjoy the company of these people who have all put Service Above Self in their dedication to Rotary.

Community Speedwatch scheme

I am able to provide funding to set up the scheme. The police don’t fund the initial costs of the equipment but will cover the costs for vetting, training and the support for back office work such as holding the database, doing the checks, sending out the letters and analysing the data.

The initial cost can be up to £3,000 which will secure the equipment to monitor speed, high visibility clothing for health and safety purposes and signs. I will be able to provide a grant for that.

I ask that anyone interested in learning more and possibly becoming a volunteer should contact me at sean.woodward@hants.gov.uk following which I can provide an application form. This is a really valuable community project and does help slow traffic on our roads. The time spent is up to the group and may vary from a few hours a week to a few hours a month for each volunteer.19
