Crofton Arts and Crafts Festival preview evening at Crofton School.

A delight to attend the Crofton Arts and Crafts Festival preview evening at Crofton School with Pal Hayre, Roz Chadd and Stephen Dugan

We browsed work from local artists and craftsmen and enjoyed music from the students at Crofton.

Well done to the Crofton Partnership for organising such an event.

HMS Prince of Wales on her first visit to her home port at Portsmouth Naval Base

A real privilege to be able to view the entry of HMS Prince of Wales on her first visit to her home port at Portsmouth Naval Base quayside this afternoon. This is a momentous event as it is the last new aircraft carrier we will see for a good 50 years. She will be joined by HMS Queen Elizabeth for commissioning next month.

I was pleased to be joined by Hampshire County Council Leader Keith Mans to meet trustees and fundraisers at Bursledon Brickworks

I was pleased to be joined by Hampshire County Council Leader Keith Mans to meet trustees and fundraisers at Bursledon Brickworks brickmaking museum in Swanwick to hear about the £1.8m New Foundations Project to create an ongoing income stream for the museum with refurbishment of sheds to incorporate small business units.

The brickworks is the largest Victorian steam-driven brickworks in the country and its survival is nationally as well as locally important.

It was good to meet trustees Paul West and Andrew Fry along with Jacqui Winter who is working on the fundraising and project co-ordination Carolyne Haynes. This is a huge project which I am happy to support.
