Delighted to meet Rev Mark Madavan at Locks Heath Free Church in Hunts Pond Road along with InTouch Team Leader Joanne Bull to see the near-complete £5m Waypoint Church project with its 500 seat auditorium, sports hall and meeting rooms. What an incredible achievement by the church members.

I am so looking forward to the opening on 21st September. I am pleased that Fareham Borough Council has been able to provide £40,000 grant support and that I will be considering the same on behalf of Hampshire County Council next month.

Great to visit the amazing South Downs Show at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Tremendous exhibits and arena performances for the whole family. A particular favourite of mine was Jonathan Marshall and his incredible performing horses Amadeus and Picasso who I was pleased to meet.

Also good to catch up with our parks volunteers on the Hampshire County Council country parks stand promoting Queen Elizabeth and Staunton Country Parks. Graham May and colleagues – thank you for all that you do.

Pleased to be able to show off the refurbished chapel at Royal Victoria Country Park for Clued Up on BBC Radio Solent this morning.

This £3.5m scheme has restored the chapel to its Victorian splendour and provides an exhibition about what was the world’s largest military hospital treating troops from the Boer War and through two World Wars. It also details 15 visits by Queen Victoria.
